1. For sites like Facebook, create a bookmark to the login page, or typing the URL or the LOGIN PAGE directly in the browser address bar.

2. Do not click on links in email messages.

3. Just typing confidential data on a secure website.

4. Check your bank accounts regularly and report anything suspicious to your bank.

5. Look for giveaway signs of phishing emails:
a. If it’s not addressed to you personally.
b. If you are not the only recipients.
c. If there are errors of spelling, grammar or bad syntax or any other rigidity in the use of language.

6. Installing software for Internet Security (Like Zone Alarm Personal Firewall) and keep anti-virus updated.

7. Installing security patches on any of your softwares.

8. Beware of email and beware of instant message that are not requested.

9. Be careful when asking for login administrator rights.

10. Backup your data regularly.
